Astrology Forecast for August 2025

All dates are for Pacific to Eastern time.

Overview of August 2025

The first half of 2025 has been eventful, to say the least.  It feels like a huge tectonic shift some days.  But, as we're heading into August, we're starting to leave some of the more challenging energies of this year behind. What's coming in is just as eventful though!

This post is about the big picture of the month + I provide a quick synopsis of each week.  You can find my detailed weekly forecasts here, published on a weekly basis.

But before we dive into the celestial updates, if you have a special Leo in your life, don't forget to check out my Gift Guide for Leo.  And the Gift Guide for Virgo is here.

And if you're a Leo or a Virgo, don't forget to book your Solar Return reading! This insightful look into your 12-months ahead gets rave reviews.

Big Energies At Play:

The Saturn-Neptune conjunction peaks for the second time on August 1, and then starts easing off, although we will still feel it in August. And no, we're not done with the "new paradigm" energy of this conjunction just yet - it will return and peak for the third time in February 2026.  You can read my in-depth post about the conjunction here. The world will continue going through a period of major realignment and readjustment. At first, it will come in as uncertainty tinged with disillusionment.

If you were born with your Sun in the early degrees of Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn, this conjunction will be particularly impactful for you.  It can also pack quite a punch if you have planets or angles (Ascendant, Descendant, MC or IC) between:

  • 27° Pisces - 4° Aries
  • 27° Gemini - 4° Cancer
  • 27° Cancer - 4° Leo
  • 27° Virgo - 4° Libra
  • 27° Scorpio - 4° Sagittarius
  • 27° Sagittarius - 4° Capricorn

So that's the Saturn-Neptune conjunction.

And now, new energies are now starting to come in.  A Uranus-Pluto trine + Uranus-Neptune sextile are starting to form in the skies.  These are supportive planetary energies, especially if they connect with your natal chart. This deserves a post of its own - stay tuned.

Much like the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, Uranus and Pluto will come close to a trine in 2025, but it won't become exact (at it's most powerful) until 2026. But then, we will have 5 repeating trines, from 2026 to 2028.

The last time we had a series of Uranus-Pluto trines was over a century ago - in 1921-22! They brought new power players emerging on the world scene:  Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin.  Hopefully we will do better this time.  It's the energy of change in the power dynamics, but it's also a massive energy of innovation and progress.

Some days the news feels straight out of science fiction I read as a child:  brain-computer technology to better human health, through implanting chips in your brain? I'm still on the learning curve with integrating AI, but technology continues to advance at neck-breaking speed.  And we can expect more of the same over the next 3 years.

In addition to innovation advancing in leaps and bounds, from 2026-28, we can expect some radical social, political, and economic change and perhaps new global leaders. Note that the outer planets get along, for the most part, in 2025 and 2026, so while there may be conflict, no doomsday scenarios should be playing out.

Mercury Comes Out of Retrograde:

So that's the big picture.  In terms of smaller-scale but still impactful astro-events, Mercury turns direct on August 11. But, it will stay in its Storm (moving very slowly in the skies) until August 17.

Be on guard for communication and documentation mishaps, especially between August 8-15, when Mercury is repositioning in the skies.  Back up important files.  And give yourself plenty of time to get to important appointments.

Since this retrograde is happening in Leo, it's a celestial nudge to recalibrate your relationship with your kids, romantic partners, and to give some thought to what gives you joy and brings some zest and sparkle into your life!

Mars and Venus Change Signs:

Mars enters Libra on August 6, and Venus enters Leo on August 25.

August 1 - 3:  The Month Starts on a Grumpy Note

Venus squares both Saturn and Neptune on August 1.  NOT a good day for a first date. It can be difficult to see things clearly.

August 4 - 10:  This Action-Packed Week Brings a Huge Highlight

Mars is prominently featured this week.  It enters Libra on August 6, and immediately butts heads with Saturn and Neptune. It may be difficult to get things going mid-week.  There could be some passive-aggressive behaviors and gaslighting.

But, Mars also forms a beautiful Grand Trine with Uranus and Pluto.  It's a very helpful energy if you need to initiate positive change in your life.  Just be prepared that you may need to push through some obstacles first, and there could be a reality check along the way.

If your birthday is this week, pay attention to the House (area of your life) that Mars falls in your Solar Return chart.  That area will receive some major activations in the next 12 months.

The Full Moon in Aquarius arrives on August 9 at 12:55 a.m. PDT.  If you tend to be a loner, this is a fantastic Full Moon to release all tendencies to aloofness and to invite warmth and joy into your life.

And, save some energy for Sunday, because that's when one of the happiest, brightest celestial energies of the year will start building:  Venus and Jupiter meet at 13° Cancer on August 11.

Mark August 10 on your calendar.  The stars are aligning in a lovely Opportunity Period between 1:52 a.m. to 11:55 p.m. PDT.  August 10 would be a great day to schedule that first date, or perhaps make a purchase that makes your heart sing.  It's also a great day to connect with your personal power, or to make a power play at work (too bad it's a Sunday).  Just don't sign any contracts.  Mercury is still retrograde on that date.

August 11 - 17:  A Useful Window for Contracts and Negotiations:

The early part of the week is great for spiritual and artistic pursuits, with the Moon in Pisces making several positive connections.

Another interesting celestial quirk of August is that Mercury will make an extended sextile to Mars, between August 13-17.  This is very helpful if you need to sign a contract, especially if you can do it during an Opportunity Period:  between August 16, 11:11 a.m. PDT to August 18, 4:53 a.m. PDT.  Just make sure you proofread it to avoid unintended typos.

August 18 - 24:   Happy Birthday, Virgo! ♍New Moon in Virgo

The Sun enters Virgo on August 22.  Happy Birthday to my Virgo readers!

If your birthday falls on or around August 22,  your Solar Return chart will feature several lovely aspects made by the Moon. And, if your birthday falls on August22/23 (Pacific to Eastern time), this is also your New Moon year - a year of new beginnings.  Your next 12 months can be quite impactful.  This is a good year to book a Solar Return (birthday) reading.

The Moon is Balsamic at the start of the week.  It's an inauspicious time for new beginnings.  Wrap up projects already in progress; declutter; recharge.  You can't reach for the stars if your hands are full of yesterday's clutter, as they say!

The New Moon, at 0°  Virgo, is the time to set intentions for what you want to attract into your life.  Virgo-related themes will get an extra boost.  Think a healthy diet, exercise, productive work environment, and improved organizational skills (for those of us who can be a little scattered).

August 25 -31:   Love is in the Stars!

To start the week, Venus moves from home-loving Cancer into glamorous and glitzy Leo.  She makes several aspects this week, making the week a bit of an emotional rollercoaster.

Venus trines Saturn on Monday, making this an excellent day to take things to the next level, to move in together, or to pop the question.

On Tuesday, she sextiles Uranus, trines Neptune, and opposes Pluto!  A great day for a romantic date or to approach your interest on a dating app - as long as you're not afraid of some intensity.

Cautions This Month:

✨ August 1: Venus squares Saturn and Neptune

NOT a good day to start a new relationship, such as approaching someone on a dating app or going for the first date.  The challenging energy of the square will colour your relationship, and may lead to untruths and disillusionment.

✨ August 6-9:  Mars Opposes Saturn and Neptune

It can be difficult to get any traction.  There could be some passive-aggressive behaviors and gaslighting.

✨ August 8-14:  Mercury changes direction + Mars Opposes Saturn and Neptune

Mercury is repositioning in the skies, turning direct on August 11 and moving very slowly.  To be on the safe side, keep practicing Mercury-Rx related cautions until August 14.

Proofread important documents. Read the fine print. Check the distribution list for important email. Give yourself plenty of time to get to important appointments.
