Solar Eclipse in Leo: August 2026

NEW MOON/SOLAR ECLIPSE at 20° LEO: August 12, 2026 at 10:37 a.m. PDT
This New Moon is also a powerful Solar Eclipse!
If you set intentions on a New Moon - and if you don't, you really should give it a try! - keep in mind that Intentions set on a Solar Eclipse can manifest very fast. But, there is a catch. The Universe can bring you exactly what you asked for, but the road to get there can have some unexpected twists!
A Word of Earning (From Personal Experience):
When I was a new mom, I got tired of trying to get rid of the extra weight I packed on during the pregnancy. Going to the gym didn't help. I was so sleep-deprived that I fell asleep on a treadmill, fell off and hurt my wrist! 🙄
So, I set an intention for my ideal weight on a Solar Eclipse. Next thing I knew...I needed surgery. Nothing major, but I couldn't eat anything other than light soup for a few days. Within a week, I was at my ideal weight. But, I can't say surgery was my preferred weight-loss strategy 😀
That Said...
Solar Eclipses can get you unstuck fast. If something in your life is not moving forward, no matter how hard you try, then a Solar Eclipse is your friend.
Ask the Universe for Your Soulmate
Just before this particular eclipse, Venus - the planet of love - forms a super-rare and very powerful alignment: a Kite. She trines Pluto and Uranus, and opposes Neptune. Wow, that's a powerful punch of soulmate energy.
If you're longing for a soulmate connection, this is your New Moon.
All the Usual Leo Themes Apply - and More
Traditionally, a New Moon in Leo is fantastic for attracting romance, asking for joy, creating a happy relationship with your children, increased creativity, or giving your leadership abilities a power boost.
But, here is the thing. The Moon will go void of course at the time of the eclipse. Wait it out - intentions set on a void-of-course Moon may not bring results. By that time, the Moon will leave Leo, so you can set intentions for anything you'd like to bring into your life.
How To:
Choose no more than 5 intentions to focus on. I've been working with the New Moon for a while, so this is from experience. Setting more than 5 intentions seems to diffuse the energy. If you're just starting out, limit it to 1-2 areas (or intentions).
- The Moon will go void of course at the time of the eclipse, so wait until Aug. 13, 3:18 a.m. PDT to set your intentions. You don't have to set them right then, either - any time within 8 hours will work. Set aside about 30 minutes for this.
- You may wish to light a yellow candle and meditate with a citrine or a sunstone. Spend a good 5 minutes getting grounded and centered, before you send your intentions to the Universe.
- Focus on your intentions. Take some time to truly FEEL them (this is key). You WANT to be in that happy relationship full of joy, with your soulmate partner. You WANT to attract a leadership position in your career. What would it feel like when your heart's desire comes to you?
Sample Intentions:
“I want to experience a deep, healthy, happy and fulfilling soulmate connection.”
“I want to attract and experience a joyful, happy romantic relationship.”
“I want to easily be able to create a feeling of joy and romance in my relationship with _________”.
“I want my relationship with my child(ren) <insert names> to be full of joy”.
“I want to easily find ways to bring joy and happiness into each day of my life”.
“I want to easily find myself assuming leadership in <the area of your life>”.
“I want to easily generate creative, original ideas for <my book, art, or other creative areas>”.
“I want to attract and experience success in <theater or other performing arts>”.
