Astrology Forecast for September 2025

All dates are for Pacific to Eastern time.

September is quite eventful astrologically!  Saturn re-enters Pisces, Uranus turns retrograde, the Eclipse Season arrives and...a very special planetary pattern - a Minor Grand Trine - is now active in the skies.

The energies are in flux, and not only because of the eclipses. Most planets are either in the final degrees or in the very first degrees of their signs.  

This post is about the big picture of the month + I provide a quick synopsis of each week.  You can find my detailed weekly forecasts here, published on a weekly basis.

Long-Awaited Energies of 2025/2026 Arrive: 

The outer planets are now aligned in a harmonious Minor Grand Trine:  two sextiles + a trine.   It's a much-awaited event in the astrological community, that is now starting to come into force.

The outer planet transits bring shifts and events that can be quite influential on the collective level, shaping the world affairs and generational trends.  And of course, when something as impactful as this Minor Grand Trine connects with YOUR natal chart, it can bring profound changes in your personal life. 

The Solar Eclipse on Sept. 21, at 29° Virgo, activates this alignment.  The developments it promises can start coming together very quickly or in an unexpected fashion.  There's been much talk in the news (and I'm sure many of us intuitively feel it, too) that the global community is repositioning itself toward a new world order, and what this community looks like - and the rules of engagement - are being redefined.

Well, the upcoming eclipse on Sept. 21 can very well throw some hints in our direction!

Eclipse Season: 

Eclipses are wild cards in astrology.  I've been tracking eclipses for a while, and I find that the sign they fall into and the aspects they make give us very accurate clues about new or unexpected developments the world is about to experience. After all, eclipses shake things up!  

The upcoming eclipses continue along the Pisces-Virgo axis, continuing the themes that started in January 2025: 

• Lunar Eclipse at 15° Pisces, on September 7 at 11:09 a.m. PDT, and 
• Solar Eclipse at 29° Virgo, on September 21 at 12:54 p.m. PDT.

So, where can we expect the shake-ups?

Well, in a nutshell, it's the following areas (and a lot of this has already been playing out):

• Unexpected changes to employment and the job market (yup, there was the shock of federal workers being laid off in the USA)
  
  
• Issues related to borders, including country borders (yup, 2025 brought rhetoric by the USA administration about Canada being the "51st state", and reinforcement of the borders to stop fentanyl trafficking)
  
  
• Speaking of which - eclipses in Pisces, in particular, tend to bring issues related to drugs into a sharper focus.

On a personal level, you should pay attention to this month's Eclipse Season if you see your birthday below:

• March 4-8 and 18-22
• September 5-9 and 19-24
• June 4-8 and 18-22
• December 5-9 and 20-24

Or if you have personal planets/angles between:

• 13-17° or 27-29° Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius
• 0-1° Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn

Remember, eclipses bring the unexpected, but you can tell WHERE things will play out and HOW, by looking at the House an eclipse falls in your natal chart, and the aspects it makes.

Saturn Re-Enters Pisces: 

After its brief flirtation with Aries, Saturn crosses back into Pisces on September 1. 

When Saturn transits through a sign, it tends to restructure some of the matters governed by that sign.  If there were any illusions held, they will be dismantled.

And as it re-enters Pisces, Saturn will be finishing up what it started in the following areas:

With Saturn in Pisces, we can expect to feel its restrictive – or redefining! - energy in the following areas: 

• oil and gas
• drugs
• pharmaceuticals
• the sea and fishing
• social programs
• hospitals
• arts and spirituality. 
  

I was shaking my head at my own prediction from 2023, about the governments restructuring social programs while Saturn is in Pisces, or very shortly after.  Wow did that ever play out in Canada (on the immigration front) and the USA!  

OK now I'm sure you're thinking, "Be it as it may, but what about me, personally? Should I pay attention?"

You should if you have personal planets or Angles (Ascendant, Descendant, MC or IC) between 25-29° Pisces, Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius.

If you've been going through a disillusioning or a hard experience in 2025, it will reach its final chapter by mid-February 2026.  Watch for great clarity emerging re: your path forward. 

And, good news for you, Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio!  Saturn and Jupiter will start aligning in a beneficial trine at the end of September, and the energy will just intensify in October and November.  If it hits your natal chart just right, you could be heading into an extended period of opportunities. 

For all of us, this trine will promote deep emotional healing and closure (for those who need it). 

Saturn will stay in Pisces until Feb. 14, 2026.  And then it will start whipping Aries-related matters into shape, as it re-enters Aries! 

Uranus Turns Retrograde:

Much like Saturn, Uranus is briefly exploring its new sign, Gemini, this year.  As it turns retrograde on September 6, at 1 deg. Gemini, it will find its way back into Taurus on November 7.

• July 7 - Nov. 7, 2025: Uranus in Gemini.
  • It will cover 0-1° Gemini.

• Nov. 7, 2025 - April 25, 2026:  Uranus back in Taurus.
  • It will retrace 27-30° Taurus. 

Uranus brings the unexpected, especially in the areas that have become stale and stifled for you personally.  So you might just as well be proactive and consider what you need to change, before the Universe does it on your behalf (and not in the way you might like!) 

Mercury, Venus, Mars and of Course the Sun all Change Signs in September

And in Mercury's case, it happens twice!  What can I tell you, September is an eventful month:

• Sept. 2:  Mercury enters Virgo - good news, Mercury is strong in Virgo.  Note September includes a couple of excellent dates for contracts, presentations, negotiations, and other Mercury-related pursuits. 
  
  
• Sept. 18: Mercury enters Libra
  
  
• Sept. 19:  Venus enters Virgo - not so good.  Venus - the planet of love and money - is in fall in Virgo (not super strong).  But, there are some good dates for love and romance earlier in September! 
  
  
• Sept. 22:  Mars enters Scorpio - mixed news.  Mars is strong in Scorpio, but it starts butting heads with Pluto just as he gets into the sign.  See "Cautions".
  
  
• Sept. 22: the Sun enters Libra.  Happy Birthday to all Libras out there! 

September 1-7: Practice Self-Care and Work on Old Hurts 

The eclipse energy is starting to come in this week, so you might find yourself edgier than usual.  If you're an empath, your energetic body could become too porous -too easy for the other people's energy to get in.  Work with black crystals and practice grounding.  

On the plus side, the Lunar Eclipse on Sept. 7 is fantastic if you need to release old hurts and disappointments that still haunt you. 

It's a very good energy for finalizing contracts, negotiations, or important presentations, especially if you do so during the Opportunity Period:  from Sept. 11, 11:59 p.m. to Sept. 12, 1:14 p.m. PDT.

The Sun forms a lovely sextile with Jupiter on Sept. 12 as well, boosting luck and opportunities in different areas.  

Love the energies this week.  They are so optimistic!

September 15-21:  Clarify Issues in Relationships and Get Ready for the Solar Eclipse 

On September 15-16, Venus is sextile Mars and trine Chiron.  Mars and Chiron form an opposition. It is a good time to clarify any relationship issues and address any sensitive topics.   September 15 is also a good day overall for love and romance. 

After, the eclipse energies are starting to set in.  While Mercury makes some good aspects mid-week, the energies are already erratic by then.  The New Moon on September 21, in Virgo, is also a powerful Solar Eclipse! 

The geometry of this eclipse is truly spectacular.  It opposes Saturn in Pisces and Neptune in Aries.  It also trines Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius.  In other words, it forms a very powerful energy pattern - a Kite - highlighting " a chapter closes and a new one begins" energy of the second half of 2025. We now have a chance to integrate our lessons, and apply what we've learned to the future. 

Do some emotional or physical decluttering leading up to the eclipse.  If you're into manifestation, if something in your life just can't seem to get traction, setting intentions on an eclipse can get you unstuck fast. 

But, what you desire can also come in an unexpected or even turbulent way.  (Having said all that, I worked with eclipses all the time when I was younger, and was amazed at the results.  Now that I'm older and have too much to lose, I don't want to take the risk and I set them out).

September 22 - 30:  Happy Birthday to My Libra Readers! And, Mars Gets In Trouble...

The Sun enters Libra on September 22.  Happy Birthday to my Libra readers!  There is a Grand Trine in the skies!

The Sun in Libra trines Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini.  Wow!!!  If your birthday is Sept.  18 - 23, this hugely beneficial aspect of massive change will get locked in your Solar Return chart.  And!  The eclipse will fall close to your natal Sun, reinforcing the energy of major change. This is your year to learn about your 12 months ahead with a Solar Return (birthday) reading! 

But, Mars in Libra also butts heads with Pluto in Aquarius this week, forming a square.  This is a very volatile energy.  Stay away from dark places and unhinged people.  And, I've noticed over the years that under this square, there is often tension in world affairs.  For my liking, this Mars-Pluto square comes too soon after the eclipse 😞 The worst of the energy will pass by Sept. 26.

Cautions This Month: 

🚫 Sept. 2-3: Mercury square Uranus

NOT the best time for contracts, negotiations and important presentations.  The energy is too erratic, and the outcome might not be what you expect. 

🚫 Sept. 3-10:  Eclipse Window

The energies are too erratic, so don't force any major decisions.  Emotions may be charged and volatile.  Sleep can be disrupted. Decision-making may suffer. Do some manifesting instead:  focus on releasing old, unresolved hurts and disappointments on the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces, on September 7.

🚫 Sept.18-25:  Eclipse Window + Mars Squares Pluto 

The energies are too erratic, so don't force any major decisions.  Decision-making may suffer.  Sleep may be disrupted.  But, if something in your life is not coming together no matter how hard you try, set your intentions on the Solar Eclipse on September 21.  Just be prepared for some unexpected twists and turns.

And, Mars squares Pluto on Sept. 24.  Stay away from unhinged people and dark places between Sept. 21 -25.
