Saturn-Neptune Conjunction 2025-2026

A few years ago, I watched lava flowing into the ocean on the Big Island of Hawaii.  Molten rivulets of liquid fire merging with cold, dissolving water.  Eventually, new land would be formed. 

And that's what the upcoming Saturn-Neptune conjunction in fiery Aries makes me think of:  fire (Aries - creation, but also danger) dissolving in water (Neptune) but not disappearing. Lots of steam generated in the process, and lots of heat. Lack of clarity, confusion, feeling let down or deceived.  "Water! I thought you were my friend, and now you're trying to extinguish me!"  

But, fire doesn't just disappear. Water (Neptune) and Fire (Aries) create (Saturn) something new. 

A Saturn-Neptune conjunction we're about to experience is a very special planetary alignment.  We started feeling its energy around April 2025, and it's about to get amplified. 

The two planets will come within half a degree of one another on June 29 and August 1, 2025 , between 1-2° Aries.  And on February 20, 2026, the conjunction will become exact at 0° Aries, the Aries point.  And that's a hugely important area of the Zodiac, the "reset and restart" degree.  

Saturn-Neptune conjunctions are relatively rare, happening every 36 years.  But, it's the fact that they are happening at 0° Aries that makes this conjunction truly stunning. It's the energy of massive, generational shift. 

Think of Conjunctions as a Super-Planet 

When two planets' energies join in a conjunction, it's almost like they form a brand-new super-planet.  Their qualities meld into one another. 

And Saturn and Neptune are two unlikely partners!  Saturn is about realism, building structure, and erecting boundaries.  Neptune is about merging with the Divine and dissolution. 

Saturn is about law and cause-and-effect (including karma). Neptune...well... Neptune can be about subterfuge. 

When Saturn at in play, we're often faced with the consequences of our actions.  When Neptune is at play, we can try to escape reality, and we can also fall prey to deceit.

But, together, these two planets are also a massive energy of creation.  That's what made me think of Hawaii! Molten lava flowing into the ocean and forming new land.  But first, there is a lot of steam, and things feel heated, hazy, and a little (or a lot) dangerous. 

Saturn-Neptune Aspects Brought Geopolitical Shifts in the Past

Russia and the USA seem to resonate with this energy particularly strongly, so we can expect some big shifts happening in these two countries in 2025-2026, reverberating through and impacting the rest of the world.  In fact, this is already playing out for the USA.

The Russian Revolution in 1917 happened under this conjunction, and ushered the socialist state.  And the Berlin Wall came down under a Saturn-Neptune conjunction as well, in 1989. And with that came the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

Note that in the chart of the USA, the IC - the cusp of the 4th House - is at 1° Aries. This sensitive point represents the country's borders, homeland security, and the sense of national identity, 

The very day Neptune last entered Aries marked the beginning of the Civil War in the United States (April 12, 1861).  The polarizing issue was slavery, with several states wanting to separate from the Union. Two years later, under a Saturn-Neptune opposition, President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, declaring the slaves free.

Aries wants to conquer - and sometimes, to separate and establish its own identity.  It brings the desire to look after your own interests,  sometimes at the expense of someone else's.

Neptune has the ability to enchant, so it's easy for a person - or a group - to fall under its spell and to support a cause, for better or worse.  Ideological views can diverge to the point of civil unrest.  

And speaking about redefinition of borders.  In 1986, under a Saturn- Neptune conjunction in Aquarius, the US-Mexican war led to the annexation and later incorporation of California, Texas, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and the redefinition of borders.

I'm an eternal optimist, so I hope with all my heart that this will lead to the betterment of humanity.  But just to be on the safe side, if you work with vision boards, put "World Peace" on yours.  It's freshly added to mine! 

Sadly, 2025 brought fresh geopolitical tensions, and long-term alliances and partnerships being redrawn.  

Jupiter and the Sun Activate the Conjunction in June

Jupiter joins the party between June 14-19, squaring first Saturn and the Neptune.  And the Sun, as it enters Cancer on June 20, triggers the tangle between the celestial super-powers. 

We had two Jupiter-Saturn squares in 2024, and now this aspect repeats for one final time. It's the energy of expansion and contraction, or optimism and pessimism, battling one another. And when Neptune joins the party, things get murkier at first, but eventually, there is a major reality check (it might not come until later though).  Hidden untruths and scandals can come out. 

What Does This Mean for You? 

At its worst, the Saturn-Neptune conjunction can bring a majorly disillusioning moment.  Deceit and underhandedness can be at play, too 😞 Think of people abdicating responsibility, being ghosted, and feeling betrayed by those you trusted.  Sadly, I've already seen this playing out in the lives of 3 of my clients.  

But, as you push through the layers of disappointment, the reality of your life starts to come into focus again - and it's better and brighter than what seemed just a while ago. A new way of looking at life.  A new you.  A new path in your life. 

When it's at its best, the Saturn-Neptune conjunction is a huge manifestor aspect.  If it connects with your natal chart and you consciously work with its energy, you will have an amazing opportunity to bring your dreams (Neptune) into reality (Saturn).  It's a powerful combo!
