Astrology Forecast for May 11-17, 2026

Photo: glorious Harrison Tulip Festival, Canada.  Sharing my spring adventures with you!

Note: The dates in this forecast are for the Pacific time zone.

Unless I provide a specific timeframe, we'll feel the energies 24–72 hours before the date I mention (the date when the planetary alignment is exact).

They'll gain strength as they approach, and linger for 24–48 hours after, gradually fading with each passing hour.

💫 To Make the Most of This Week:

Mercury is very active this week, making a lovely sextile with Jupiter early in the week, and an energizing conjunction with Uranus on the weekend.

But, the challenge is, Mercury is combust this week — too close to the Sun — so for electional purposes (selecting the best date to initiate something), its powers are weakened.

So instead of initiating Mercury-related pursuits, use this week to come up with brilliant ideas, proposals, and innovative solutions. At work, it's a great week to hold a brainstorming meeting. The goal should be to inspire and generate ideas, rather than land on concrete solutions.

The same goes for your personal life! This week is great for reflecting on where you might be thinking small, and what you're going to do about it.

But the star of the show is the New Moon in Taurus, on May 16 at 1:01 p.m. PDT. If you work with the Lunar Cycle, this New Moon is THE day of the year to set intentions for attracting financial prosperity, increasing patience and perseverance, and bringing contentment and sensuality into your life.

💫 Key Astro-Events:

Now let's take a look at the astro-events this week:

May 11: Moon in Pisces Sextiles Mercury

Best For:

  • Artistic pursuits, especially creative writing
  • Spiritual pursuits (book a Tarot reading!)

✨ May 12: Mercury Sextile Jupiter

Best For:

  • Inspirational or motivational team meetings at work
  • Reflecting on where you might be thinking small

May 13, 1:01 p.m. to May 16, 1:01 p.m. PDT: Balsamic Moon

Balsamic Moon is an inauspicious time for new beginnings, but it's fantastic for clearing out what no longer serves you.

During this Balsamic Moon, the Sun is conjunct Mercury — very helpful for letting go of old mental patterns.

Best For:

  • Letting go of old mental patterns
  • Reflecting and journaling
  • Decluttering (physical, digital, or emotional)
  • Unstructured time to restore your physical, emotional, or mental energy.

Avoid:

  • Starting new, important projects and undertakings

May 16, 1:01 p.m. PDT: New Moon in Taurus!

If you work with the Lunar Cycle, don't miss this lovely New Moon. First of all, it's a Cazimi Moon — a very powerful time to start something you really want to succeed. The Cazimi window is open from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. PDT.

And secondly, this New Moon is conjunct Mercury and Uranus — helpful synchronicities just might show up if you set your intentions on this New Moon!

Best For:

  • Setting intentions to attract financial prosperity, increased patience and perseverance, and contentment and sensuality.
  • Starting something you really want to succeed during the Cazimi window.

May 17: Mercury Enters Gemini; Mercury Conjunct Uranus

Mercury in Gemini is quick, adaptable, and curious — but it can be too scattered. All these things vying for your attention! You start paying the bills, get distracted by a text coming in, then remember that thing you were going to ask ChatGPT about and… you get the picture!

Mercury will stay in Gemini from May 17 to June 1.

As for May 17, a restless Moon in Gemini makes many, many aspects. To add to the restless and overly stimulating energy, Mercury conjuncts Uranus.

Best For:

  • Consciously looking at a situation from a different perspective
  • Brainstorming

Avoid:

  • Mental overstimulation. The mind can be in overdrive today. Go for a walk, do some gardening, or try some yoga — something that helps you ground.

🕰️ Moon Void of Course

Avoid starting anything new you want to succeed during these periods:

  • May 12, 3:04 a.m. to 5:04 p.m. PDT
  • May 14, 2:33 p.m. to 7:31 p.m. PDT
  • May 16, 6:02 p.m. to 7:23 p.m. PDT
  • May 17, 12:36 p.m. to May 18, 6:46 p.m. PDT — it's a long one, so pay attention!

Taurus and Gemini, Have You Booked Your Solar Return Reading Yet?

"Oh gosh, I really hope they're not going through a marital breakdown," I thought as I reviewed a client's Solar Return chart. "This could also bring confrontations and decisions about property."

"I'm going through a divorce," was the first thing my client said. And sure enough, property was front and center — my client and their spouse couldn't agree on what to do about their house.

That's the power of a Solar Return: a precise, practical snapshot of your year ahead, mapped out before it unfolds.

If your birthday falls in Taurus or Gemini season, now is the time. Book your Solar Return reading before your birthday passes, or very soon after — it's most powerful when done close to the date.

Your Solar Return is your personal new year — a powerful map of the year ahead, unique to you.
