R.I.P. Queen Elizabeth II

Many parts of the world are mourning the passing of Queen Elizabeth this week, after 7 decades of reign. We certainly are here in Canada!

The astrology of Queen Elizabeth’s chart leading to the announcement of her passing is both significant and poignant.

But first, a quick note.  Pluto, the planet of transformation and irrevocable change, is spending its last 2 years in Capricorn. And Pluto has been in Capricorn for quite a while, since 2008! Pluto moves very slowly.

It will be dipping its toe into Aquarius in 2023, and then making a long-term move into Aquarius in 2024, for a good long stretch, until 2044.

Capricorn represents power and government structures, and there may be more upcoming changes in the governing structures (and possibly desperate bids for power) around the world over the next 2 years.

When the planet is about to leave the sign, it can "scramble" frantically to accomplish what it needs to, and Pluto is about massive change and transformation.

Back to Queen Elizabeth.  She was a Taurus Sun, Leo Moon and Capricorn Rising. And, as many people with the planets in fixed signs (Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio) her natal chart was getting a beating from Saturn and Uranus over the past couple of years. There could have been deterioration of health that started as early as 2020.

A tragic event in shown for her in 2021, when her Progressed Moon conjoined transiting Pluto. That’s the year her husband of 74 years, Prince Phillip, passed.

Transiting Pluto started squaring her natal Sun earlier this year, as of March 2022. For everyone undergoing a Sun-Pluto square at the moment: in 99.9% of the cases, it doesn’t mean a passing!! But, there is usually a chapter that closes in your life, and there is no going back.

What’s more, Queen Elizabeth’s natal Sun would have been directly hit by a Solar Eclipse on October 25 2022 (in some cases, the eclipse energy can come into your life before the actual date of the eclipse).

And that’s something very significant too. The year an eclipse connects with your natal Sun could be a year of a very important, very big transition.

Mercury was about to turn retrograde when Queen Elizabeth’s passing was announced, and the Moon was about to become Full – an important announcement was in the making. There may be more communication coming out (about royal matters and the legacy?) around October 17, when Mercury turns direct again.

Transiting Saturn was sitting right on top of her Progressed Moon, the ruler of her 6th House of Health, when her passing was announced. And that can bring a downturn in one’s health.

But, her Progressed Moon was also getting ready to conjoin her natal Jupiter. And that is a welcome sign when someone’s soul crosses over: it sets the soul free. There is a sense of liberation and peace.

R.I.P., Queen Elizabeth II. Your chart, with a strong Saturn at the MC and Capricorn Rising, shows a life filled with responsibility, and that you had to become an adult at a very young age.
