The first New Moon of 2024! And it's a very powerful one, too. At 20° Capricorn, It's closely conjunct the planet of power and transformation, Pluto, and it's supported by Uranus, helping you bring positive change into your life.
If you set New Year Resolutions, 8 hours following this New Moon would be a great time to do that (if you haven't yet). After all, a New Moon in Capricorn is all about accomplishing what you set out to do!
It's a great New Moon for the career-minded - and January 2024 is filled with great energies for career and business. Capricorn rules older age, as well, so if you’re worried about your financial stability in retirement, circle this one on your calendar.
Capricorn energy is perfect for getting clear on how you define success. For each of us, it might look different. Stay aligned with yours. It may be an external manifestation of success, but it can also be internal: being happy with your life, for example.

How To:
- Set your intentions soon after the new Moon, within 8 hours if you can. Set aside about 30 minutes for this.
- If you like working with crystals, you can use them to amplify your New Moon ritual (optional). If you are focusing on professional success, work with citrine and garnet. To strengthen your resolve to help you get where you want, use tiger eye.
- Focus on your intentions. Truly FEEL them. How will it feel when you are in that big office, calling the shots and steering the ship? When you have a great, mutually supportive relationship with your boss? When you watch your nest egg grow, ensuring financial security in retirement? Direct that energy of security and accomplishment into your intentions.
- Write down your intentions and keep them. And, write down one (or more) action steps that YOU are going to take to help you get there. And then, commit to following through while the Moon is waxing over the next couple of weeks. Do your part, and leave the rest to the Universe
Sample intentions might include:
“I want to attract a position of increased responsibility at work.”
“I want to be able to achieve my goal of _____ through using my skills and determination to my best advantage.”
“I want right opportunities to come into my life at the right time, leading to a promotion at work.”
“I want to easily find myself taking actions that enhance my professional reputation.”
“I want to easily find ways to build a mutually <beneficial, supportive,…> relationship with my boss.”
“I want to easily be able to make decisions that will lead to financial security during retirement.”
“I want to easily find myself handling money in a way that allows me to retire at the age of ____”.
