Saturn in Aries

On May 24, 2025, Saturn enters Aries, initiating a new 29‑year cycle. It stays there for just over three months before retrograding back into Pisces.
This brief visit is a preview of the energy we’ll be living with for more than two years once Saturn returns to Aries for good on February 13, 2026.
It always amazes me how the news headlines reflect what's going on astrologically. I'm sure you've noticed "a new world order" mentioned in the media, over and over. It's not just because of Saturn entering Aries though. 2025 is a beginning of a huge energy shift! Three slow-moving outer planets - Saturn, Uranus and Neptune - ALL temporarily change signs.
First, the Dates:
This is what Saturn is up to:
- May 24 - Sept. 1 2025: Aries
- Sept. 1 2025 - Feb. 13, 2026: Pisces
- Feb. 13, 2026 - April 13, 2028: Aries
Saturn and Aries - and let's not forget Neptune!
Saturn, the taskmaster, tends to whip into shape whatever sign it enters. It can restrict growth, slow progress, or place obstacles in our path. But if we engage with what Saturn is trying to teach, it ultimately strengthens and stabilizes what it touches, giving it durability and long-term value.
Saturn isn’t about trends or quick fixes. It’s about longevity, quality, and the long game.
But here’s the twist: from 2023 to 2028, Saturn and Neptune are roommates, sharing first Pisces and then Aries. So Saturn’s job isn’t only to shape the affairs of the sign it’s in — it’s also working to counterbalance Neptune. Neptune’s visions are noble but often lofty or impractical. Together, though, Saturn and Neptune form a powerful combo!
I share my thoughts on the Saturn-Neptune interplay and Neptune in Aries in my post here.
Saturn in not comfortable in Aries. Saturn wants discipline and structure; Aries wants action now. Aries is the warrior — bold, fast, and willing to charge ahead. “Ask for forgiveness, not permission” could have been written for Aries. At its highest expression, Aries boldly forges the path to the new world. At its worst, it bulldozes through systems that took years to build.
And Neptune, already in Aries, is egging it on: You have a vision — why wait? Who cares that the details are not ironed out yet? Act now. Neptune is all about a dream, that vision of the future that is not yet in full focus, and yet, and yet...it has that magnetic pull...Neptunian energy can be seductive.
You see the problem here? Jumping into action before the plan is solid can lead to re-work, backtracking, and course correction.
On the global scene.
At work (I've worked with enough Aries leaders through my professional career!).
In your personal life.
This is why Saturn in Aries often brings a “stop‑and‑go” pattern. We leap forward, then hit a wall, then have to revise and try again.
With both Saturn and Neptune in Aries, the world may begin rewiring itself at dizzying speed — but not smoothly. Expect rapid starts, forceful pushes, and plenty of pauses and recalibrations along the way.
Saturn and Neptune: When the Opposites Can Lead to Something Great
This new beginning I'm talking about? This time, it's a massive new beginning. Saturn and Neptune will form a conjunction at 0° Aries in February 2026, but we'll start feeling its energy as early as April 2025.
0° Aries - the Aries Point - is a hugely important area of the Zodiac, the "great reset" degree. And the Saturn-Neptune conjunction is a manifestor energy. It helps bring a vision or an idea (Neptune) into the physical realm (Saturn). It's a powerful combo!
Every energy has a high and low manifestation. For Neptune, the planet of compassion and philanthropy, this vision can be something truly beautiful. It can be a dream - but it can also be a nightmare.
Remember, collectively and individually, we have a lot of say about the way a celestial energy is going to play out. We CHOOSE.
Saturn and Neptune will stay roommates, this time in Aries, until 2028. During that time, they will be shaping and re-shaping such themes as:
- Leaders and leadership
- Personal agency (=what are YOU responsible for?)
- Wars and the military (hopefully the end of the Russia-Ukraine conflict - movement toward peace is likely in 2025, but may not fully come together until 2026) 🙏🏼
- Entrepreneurship
- Courage
- Competitiveness
- Conception and birth rates, and fertility (esp. male fertility).
- Inflation - Neptune in Aries is associated with a ramp-up in inflation, but Saturn should keep it in check while it's in Aries.
The reshaping process, as mentioned, can be stop-and-go, but, when it happens, it won't be about incremental change. The Aries Point where the change is being birthed is about a big, qualitative shift.
We're already seeing it now, with world alliances starting to shift.
The world is being reshaped.
Saturn in Aries: Aspects
Saturn (and Neptune) in Aries will form harmonious sextiles with the Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini in 2025-2026. And that's good news! This configuration, sometimes referred to as a Minor Triangle, is rare for the outer planets.
It's the energy of change and breakthroughs.
Later, in June 2027, Saturn in Aries will trine Jupiter in Leo, adding expansion and optimism.
What Does It All Mean for You?
Aries is about personal agency! As astrologers say, the stars impel but they don’t compel. We all have free will. The trick is to be aware of the energies heading our way. Each planetary energy has its high manifestation – the best that can happen. And it has its low manifestation – the worst that can happen.
Check the House (areas of your life) that is in Aries in your natal chart. That's where you may experience a reality check or a disappointment, at first. But, don't stop there! Saturn and Neptune will be chasing each other through Aries in 2026, and that's a major manifestation energy.
Be intentional and discerning though about WHAT you're manifesting. Neptune can be pure bliss, but it can also represent our subconscious fears. Go for the highest manifestation, the highest outcome.
I've already seen several examples of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction playing out in people's lives. I share my observations in this post.
