Astrology Forecast for February 2023

All the planets are now direct, supporting new undertakings.  If there is a big project you need to get off the ground, or a big decision you need to make, there is a lovely, supportive stretch of forward momentum until April 20 (when Mercury turns retrograde).

February has some very lovely highlights, even though it's a quieter month astrologically.  Now March - in March we will get big celestial developments, with Saturn and Pluto both changing signs. And that's a very big energy shift that we will feel for months to come!

Uranus is very active in February, so there could be unexpected developments and surprises. But, it's also a great energy to break out of stifling routines or unhelpful patterns.

Mercury is also very active, offering good dates for contracts and negotiations, presentations - and therapy.

But, the highlight of this month is a healing Venus-Neptune conjunction that wraps up Valentine's Day! Single or in a relationship, this energy opens the heart and connects you with the vibration of love (and self-love) on a very deep level. (Note it’s not a good energy for major financial decisions).

Let's look at each week in detail.

Note that all the dates I mention are for Pacific to Eastern time.  The energies I mention peak on those dates, but we’ll feel them for 24-72 hours in advance.

Feb. 1 - 5:

This week brings uneasy yet helpful energies that are good for healing old wounds and breaking out of stale routines. The star of the show is the Full Moon in Leo.

Feb. 1:  The Sun in Aquarius sextile Chiron in Aries

If you carry any old wounds about being "the black sheep" that doesn't belong, this is a very helpful energy for healing. You are your own person, and you're on the path that's right for YOU!

Feb. 3:  The Sun square Uranus.

This erratic and restless energy can bring sudden surprises. It can be tempting to rebel against rules and limitations today. Just be sure you have a good reason! On the plus side, this energy helps us to break out of stale routines.

If your birthday is between Feb. 1-5, this energy of change will be locked in your Solar Return chart (your temporary astrological chart for your 12 months ahead). Expect changes...and they might not be 100% to your liking, either. Stay flexible.

If you're an Aquarius, you might like a Solar Return report, to learn about your year ahead.

 Feb. 4:  Venus square Mars.

It's a hot and passionate energy, but it can be difficult to handle. There can be romantic disagreements, or disagreements about money. On the plus side, hot make-up sex is also possible 😉

Full Moon in Leo:  Feb. 5 10:29 a.m. PST

This Full Moon is tense: the Sun and the Moon both square Uranus.  Yet, if you work with the Lunar cycle to set intentions, this is a very helpful energy for breaking free of unhelpful habits or self-limiting beliefs.

As always, the Full Moon is the time to celebrate your progress. With Leo and Aquarius both in the mix, celebrate your unique gifts! We all have them. Every single natal chart I've ever read has its own, unique gifts. Embrace yours.

And then, set intentions to release anything that no longer serves you. This Full Moon is particularly good for working on blocks to romance, joy, creativity, and any ego traps that might be holding you back in life.

February 6-12:

There are two themes to this week.  Mercury and Uranus (yes, Uranus again) are active this week, providing some helpful energies for communication and mental pursuits.

And, the waning Moon moves through Virgo and Scorpio, making it a great week for those wishing to start a diet or a cleanse, or to eliminate bad habits.

 Feb. 6:  Mercury sextile Neptune.

Imagination is boosted.  A great energy for creative writers!

✨  Feb. 6 1:14 p.m. to Feb. 9 1:40 a.m. PST: waning Moon in Virgo

Best time of this month to start on a weight loss program or a cleanse, or to make health-oriented changes to your diet.  It's also a great energy for decluttering your space.

✨  Feb. 8:  Venus sextile Uranus

Surprises in romantic or financial matters are possible.  If your relationship feels a little stale, today is a good day to try something new.

✨  Feb. 10:  Mercury conjunct Pluto

A great energy for researchers and detectives :-) For everyone else, it's easier to see into people's motivations today.  Harsh words can feel particularly cutting. Practice kindness.  It's also a great energy for a therapy session: breakthroughs are possible.

✨  Feb. 11:  Mercury moves into Aquarius

...where it stays until March 2.  When Mercury is in Aquarius, it's easier to practice objectivity and detachment.  If you're in the throes of an emotional situation, this energy is very helpful for viewing things more objectively.

✨  Feb. 11 10:34 a.m. to Feb. 13 5:31 p.m. PST:  waning Moon in Scorpio

This is an excellent energy if you need to "end things for good", such as giving up smoking for that final time, or breaking up with someone who you expect will be clinging on.

February 13-19:

This week brings some very lovely energy, including the super-romantic Venus-Neptune conjunction in Pisces, that will be felt on Valentine's Day!

✨   Feb. 15Venus conjunct Neptune

We will start feeling this romantic energy on Feb. 12, so this is as perfect as it can get for Valentine's Day.  Venus in Pisces conjunct Neptune brings a mega-dose of a "roses and moonlight" romance.

But just as importantly, this energy opens the heart and allows you to connect with the energy of love (including self-love) on a very deep level.  If you're searching for a soulmate connection, express your wish to the Universe early in the week!

In financial matters though, it’s best not to make any major decisions this week. Neptune adds rosy glow to everything it touches….we tend to see things less clearly in the matters that need solid decision-making.

✨   Feb. 16:  Sun conjunct Saturn

An excellent day to push through with ongoing projects and accomplish goals.

✨   Feb. 17: Mercury sextile Jupiter

Feb. 16-17 are two excellent days for presentations, contracts and negotiations.

✨   Feb. 18, 2:34 p.m. PST:  the Sun enters Pisces

Happy Birthday to all my Pisces readers!

New Moon in Pisces, Feb. 19 11:06 p.m. PST

This is a very lovely New Moon! It's conjunct Saturn, helping you bring your dreams into reality - so it's a manifestor's Moon.

And, Venus is superbly well positioned on the day of this New Moon.  It's still close enough to Neptune, and starting to move close enough to Jupiter (we will have a lovely Venus-Jupiter conjunction on March 2: one of the most auspicious days of the year for love or money).

It's also sextile Pluto on the day of this New Moon. In other words, set intentions to attract a soulmate relationship, if you're looking for one.  It's a very good New Moon for that.

February 20 - 28:

✨ Feb. 20: Venus enters Aries

There is a lot to be said for this energy, even though it's a stretch into a new territory for peace-loving Venus. It prompts us to be direct and honest about our needs, especially in romantic matters. Venus in Aries doesn’t sit back; she actively pursues what she wants.

Aries energy is direct; there are no guessing games. Could your relationship(s) use a little more of that?

Venus will stay in Aries until March 16.

✨ Feb. 21: Mercury square Uranus

Flashes of insight are possible, but overall this energy is too erratic.  Not a good day to sign important papers or contracts.  They may result in unexpected surprises or disruptions.

 Feb. 22: Mercury trine Mars

Now this, on the other hand, is a very helpful energy for mental pursuits.  The mind is active today, and you can get a lot done.

Cautions for This Month:

Uranus makes a challenging connection with the Sun on Feb. 3-4. If you're feeling particularly rebellious and non-conforming, make sure you have a good reason.  You could feel differently in a couple of days.

And, as mentioned, Feb. 21 is not the best day to sign important papers or contracts.
