Astrology Forecast for July 2025

All dates are for Pacific to Eastern time.

Overview of July 2025

Are you feeling amazed - and maybe a little overwhelmed - by how quickly the world is changing this year?  With so many planets changing signs, 2025-2026 are going to be two years to remember - yet again!  Didn't we JUST leave the pandemic years behind us?

The overall vibe is different this time though.  It's about the new world order being formed before our own eyes, changing the paradigm that we lived with for the past few decades.

Well, July continues with this eventful theme...  We're about to experience another major planetary move:  Uranus temporarily entering Gemini.  And, Saturn and Neptune both turn retrograde and stay within 1° of one another throughout July.  It's close enough for the energies of the two planets to merge and become a distinct entity. It can bring a major reality check, but also the ability to shape the current reality and the future toward new outcomes.

These are the big themes of the month.  And, on a practical note, Mercury turns retrograde and Venus changes signs twice this month (see below).

This post is about the big picture of the month + I provide a quick synopsis of each week.  You can find my detailed weekly forecasts here, published on a weekly basis.

But before we dive into the celestial updates, if you have a special Cancer in your life, don't forget to check out my Gift Guide for Cancer.  And the Gift Guide for Leo is here.

Uranus Temporarily Moves Into Gemini:

The last time Uranus changed signs from Taurus to Gemini was May 1942, so many of us today will have not experienced this transit.

Uranus shakes up and energizes everything it touches. On a global level, we can expect major advances in communications technology, and perhaps even some rebellious uprisings against authority.

And if Uranus connects with your natal chart, it can bring a very eventful period for you personally!

I'll publish a post on this next week, but for now, here is some useful info:

  • Uranus will visit Gemini between July 7 - Nov. 8 2025, before it retrogrades into Taurus.
  • It will cover 0-1° Gemini this year.
  • If you have your natal Sun or planets in the following signs and degrees, 2025 may be a year of change for you (since Uranus will be switching between Taurus and Gemini, and back):

It may be a challenging or destabilizing period if your date of birth is listed below (or if you have personal planets or angles between these degrees):

    • May 12-26 (22-30° Taurus, 0-5° Gemini)
    • Aug. 14-29 (22-30° Leo, 0-5° Virgo)
    • Nov. 14-29 (22-30° Scorpio, 0-5° Sagittarius)
    • Feb. 10-24 (22-30° Aquarius, 0-5° Pisces)

And it could be a year of smoother transition and change if your date of birth is listed below (or if you have personal planets or angles between these degrees):

    • Sept. 14-28 (22-30° Virgo, 0-5° Libra)
    • Jan. 12-25 (22-30° Capricorn, 0-5° Aquarius)
    • March 12-24 (22-30° Pisces, 0-3° Aries)
    • July 14-26 (22-30° Cancer, 0-3° Leo)

Check out the House (area of your life) Uranus is transiting.  That's where you could experience a lot of change, at best energizing and at worst chaotic.

Mercury Turns Retrograde:

Yup...sorry to break this to you... Mercury will be retrograde July 17-August 11.  It will enter its Storm (moving very slowly in the skies) on July 10. That's when Mercury Rx-related mishaps can start happening, especially if you're sensitive to Mercury Retrograde.

So if there is anything big and important on your agenda for July, complete it in the first 9 days of the month, just to be on the safe side.

Mercury Retrograde can bring annoying technology glitches, delayed or cancelled travel plans and appointments, and frustrating miscommunication.  And….it also has a huge silver lining. It’s the best time of the year for all things “re”: re-do, re-plan, re-write (or edit), re-connect, repair, reflect.

Mercury will revisit 15 - 4° Leo while retrograde. If you know which House this falls into in your natal chart, you now have an excellent opportunity to revisit the affairs of that House (area of your life).

Since it's happening in Leo, it's a celestial nudge to recalibrate your relationship with your kids, romantic partners, and to give some thought to what gives you joy and brings some zest and sparkle into your life!

Saturn and Neptune Turn Retrograde:

Saturn and Neptune both have dipped their toes into Aries this year, but now they are retreating, getting ready to move back into Pisces.

Saturn will move into Pisces on September 1, and Neptune will take longer, staying in Aries until October 22.

Regardless, they will be staying close to one another in the skies, so their energies will stay merged.

I just had a reading for a client experiencing her Saturn Return this year.  It's always an important time, when we are faced with obligations, commitments, responsibilities - and they can be a welcome development, or not so much.

I've seen babies. marriages, big promotions, a home purchase - but also divorces, having to take care of the loved ones, and - sadly - a person's parent opting for MAID, during a Saturn Return.  It brings a rite of passage, regardless of your age.

If you're between the age of 29-30 or 58-60 in 2025 or 2026, your Saturn return will also include Saturn's conjunction with Neptune.  There may be a majorly disillusioning experience, but you are also being given the opportunity to redefine and reshape your reality, to be aligned with the person you're now.

If that's you, it's a good year for a reading.

Venus Changes Signs Twice:

She enters Gemini on July 4, and Leo on July 30.

If you're a Gemini or Leo, do pay attention to the weeks Venus moves through your sign. Two days before and after it connects with your natal Sun tends to give you a sheen of "glamour" - looking extra attractive.  It's also a good few days for a new haircut, a new wardrobe, or anything that makes you feel like a million bucks.

June 30 - July 6:  Best Week of the Month

Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians, and Happy 4th of July to my American neighbours.

This week brings the best energies of July.  Don't miss the Opportunity Period early in the week, sit out the lengthy Moon-void-of-course mid-week, and lean into the supportive energies for love and romance at the end of the week.

July 7 - 13:  Another Major Planetary Shift! And the Full Moon in Capricorn.

2025 has seen Neptune, Saturn and Jupiter all changing signs, and now it's Uranus's turn to make a move.  It moves into Gemini on Monday. That's the big news of the week, but there is more....

Call in a soulmate relationship on Monday, when Venus makes a beautiful trine to Pluto.

Sit out a lengthy void-of-course Moon that lasts from Monday afternoon into the early hours of Wednesday.  All your routine, daily tasks are perfectly fine, but remember that Moon void-of-course is inauspicious for new beginnings.

The Full Moon in Capricorn,  on July 10 at 1:37 p.m. PDT, is an excellent time to set intentions to balance work and family, release fears of incompetence, especially at work, and to ask fears of getting older to be lifted from you.

And, Mercury enters its Storm on July 10, getting ready to turn retrograde on July 17.  The chance of Mercury Rx-related mishaps will be steadily increasing over the next 7 days.  Proofread all important emails, if you must sign a legal document, read the fine print, and give yourself plenty of time to get to important appointments.

July 14 - 20:  Excellent for Spiritual or Artistic Pursuits; Mercury turns Retrograde

The early part of the week is great for spiritual and artistic pursuits, with the Moon in Pisces making several positive connections.

And then, Mercury turns retrograde on July 17/July 18, depending on your time zone. With the retrograde happening in glamourous Leo, you may want to put off any elective cosmetic procedures or drastic changes to your hair, especially if they are expensive and could be difficult to reverse if you're not happy with the outcome.

If you need to travel during Mercury Retrograde, your best bet is to travel to a familiar destination. Mercury retrograde trips can be perfectly fine - just do things you've done before.

July 21 - 27:   Happy Birthday, Leo! ♌ New Moon in Leo

The Sun enters Leo on July 22.  Happy Birthday to my Leo readers!

If your birthday falls on or around July 22,  your Solar Return will feature a lovely trine from the Sun to Saturn and Neptune, but also a tense Sun-Pluto opposition. And, if your birthday falls on July 24/25 (Pacific to Eastern time), this is also your New Moon year - a year of new beginnings.  Your next 12 months can be quite impactful.  This is a good year to book a Solar Return (birthday) reading.

The Moon is Balsamic at the start of the week.  It's an inauspicious time for new beginnings.  Wrap up projects already in progress; declutter; recharge.  You can't reach for the stars if your hands are full of yesterday's clutter, as they say!

The New Moon at 2°  Leo brings warm-hearted vibes, falling close to Mercury Retrograde. If your mind is still hung up on someone from the past, it's an excellent time to reach out to them to try to get back together or to at least patch things up as friends.

Just don't get sucked into power games on Thursday and Friday, as the Sun is in opposition to Pluto.

It's also a great New Moon to ask the Universe for success in romantic matters, increased leadership ability, and experiencing joy in your relationship with your child(ren).

July 28 - 31:   Heal Old Wounds and Insecurities in Love Matters

Venus is supported by Chiron on Monday, before Chiron turns retrograde on July 30. This is a very healing energy, especially if you have insecurities around romantic matters or your body image (and most of us do!)

Over the years, I've worked with many clients wanting to lose weight, get a better job - you name it - because they felt it would make them more attractive as a romantic partner. Yes, there is a societal pressure to project a certain image, that's for sure.

But...can I make a suggestion?

Ask the Universe to send you a man or a woman who loves you and adores you JUST AS YOU ARE!

Weight piles back on. Companies downsize. But the person who sees the beautiful essence of YOU won't care.

This is a volatile energy.  Stay away from power-hungry people and don't get sucked into power games.
