OK, without any further ado, let's talk about the astrology of November.  It's a busy month in the skies! 

Uranus re-enters Taurus.

Jupiter goes retrograde, Saturn goes direct, and - good news - they align in an extended trine, active throughout the month.  And, as November progresses, the Sun and Venus in Scorpio join the party! 😀 

Love, finances, and just plain old luck all get a boost on specific dates through the month (see Best Dates for...)

"Alright," I hear you saying.  "But what are all of these caution signs I'm seeing?" 

Well....there is one big fat fly in the otherwise perfectly lovely cosmic ointment.  Mercury is retrograde for the better part of November... 

Big Picture:

We've been undergoing a huge energy shift in 2025, with Saturn, Uranus, Neptune all changing signs.  Well, Jupiter too, but that happens every year 😀 But the other 3 planets all moving into a new sign in the same year is rare.  It signals a majorly important period.

Saturn and Neptune have now backtracked into Pisces.  And, on November 7, Uranus moves back into Taurus, for the last hurrah - until April 25, 2026.  With all three planets returned to their former long-term homes, the rest of the year could feel like we're going back in time....for now.  (BTW there is a high chance cryptocurrency will be treated as mainstream, more and more, in the next 6 months).

I'm sure you'll agree:  2025 has been a wild ride so far! New world order - foreshadowed by so many outer planets all changing signs in one year - has emerged, even if it hasn't solidified just yet.  

World economies have been rattled.  Long-term international alliances have been broken. New alliances are being built, and new power blocs may be in the works. Power dynamics are painfully highlighted in the world affairs.  The apple cart has been upset, and we're all scrambling.  And fervently praying for world peace (I know I am!)  

But, here is the thing.  The new world order is not written in stone just yet.  The energies will stay in flux until April 2026, so we can expect more twists and turns until then.  But, once Saturn, Uranus and Neptune all re-enter their new signs in 2026, we will have entered a new paradigm, for better or worse.  

I stay the optimist and believe it will be for better, considering the outer planets are all getting along quite well in 2026.  

What About That Inflation?

And now for something practical. Yes, aren't we all watching the cost of living closely these days... life is quite a bit more expensive these days, compared to pre-pandemic.

A couple of things to know here.  I hate to break it to you, but Neptune in Aries can exacerbate inflation, astrologically.  But through the spring and summer of 2025, Saturn came to the rescue.  Saturn restrains everything it touches, and with Saturn and Neptune staying close together, inflation has been contained (in the USA and Canada, anyway). 

Saturn and Neptune will stay close enough until April 2026, so while there might be minor spikes in inflation in the fall, we shouldn't see any out-of-whack price increases for the next few months.

After...well... let's cross our collective fingers and hope for the best 🤞🏼

Jupiter in Cancer and Real Estate:

If you're planning to buy or sell a home, pay attention to what Jupiter in Cancer is doing.  When Jupiter moves through a sign, it can bring an increase in supply OR demand in the sectors associated with that sign.  And Cancer rules real estate.  Much, however, depends on the aspects Jupiter makes.

Jupiter entered Cancer on June 9, 2025.  It immediately got challenged by Saturn and Neptune, bringing a moderate pricing correction here in Canada:  the number of homes for sale went up by quite a bit, especially in Greater Vancouver and Toronto. But, due to economic insecurity, there were no buyers! Supply exceeded demand.  Prices started sliding down.

But, as of mid-October, Jupiter and Saturn align in a trine. Supply and demand start getting rebalanced, creating that sweet spot (for a while, anyway).

Interest rates are going down. Buyers are starting to show up. But also, sellers who don't have to sell are starting to take their listings off the market, waiting for a better time to list. New construction projects are getting shelved due to the lack of investment, here in Canada anyway. 

Astrologically, we're in a good window to snap a home of your dreams at a better price.  Just saying... Jupiter will move into Leo on June 29, 2026, and real estate dynamics will start changing yet again.

OK, OK....now on to the key astro-events of November: 

Mercury Retrograde:  November 9 - 29

Let's get the bad news out of the way first.  Mercury enters its Storm (moving very slowly in the skies) on November 4, and that's when communication, electronic devices, and travel plans might start going haywire.

It's the days right before and after Mercury changes direction that tend to be most challenging for Mercury Rx-related mishaps, so if you have something big to take off the ground, try to do it before November 4.  

By the time Thanksgiving arrives in the USA, Mercury will still be retrograde, so be careful with your words.  It's so easy to have a miscommunication during Mercury Rx! 

Mercury will turn direct on November 29, but it will remain in its Storm, moving slowly (and still potentially causing glitches with communication, electronics and travel) until Dec. 3, 2025. 

Mercury will retrace 6° Sagittarius to 20° Pisces Scorpio through its retrograde motion.

Check the House (=area of life) in your natal chart that these degrees fall into.  For example, for me it's my 2nd House and 1st House.  That's where you may be revisiting some unfinished business or re-communicating something. 

Also, remember that most Mercury-retrograde related mishaps happen in the days before and after it changes direction.  Proofread all important emails. If you absolutely must sign a legal document during this time, read the fine print. 

Grand Trine in Water:

Even with Mercury in retrograde, something cool happens in November:  Jupiter and Saturn both prepare to change direction, and so they are moving very slowly.  Jupiter turns retrograde, and Saturn turns direct. 

And that means that we have a very extended trine (beneficial energy flow) between these two planets!  It's active from mid-October to mid-December, peaking on November 11. 

Neptune will be in the mix too, 4° away from Saturn, in Pisces.  

Think about it this way:  Jupiter (abundance) meets Neptune (magic), and Saturn helps to bring this magic into the physical realm.  It's an aspect of creation.  

Get excited about this trine if your birthday is: 

• March 12-18
• July 14-20
• November 14-20.

Or if you have planets or angles (Ascendant, Descendant, MC or IC) between:

• 22° - 29° Pisces
• 22° - 29° Cancer
• 22° - 29° Scorpio 

Opportunities that come now have every chance to bring long-term results.  You need to seize them and put some effort in though.

In the second half of November, the Sun and Venus, both travelling through Scorpio, join the party and turn it into a Grand Trine. 

A Grand Trine is when three trines combine into one big cosmic love-in.  Three or more planets all align in a harmonious energy flow, positively reinforcing one another.  And we have two Grand Trines in the skies in the second half of November!

Grand Trines with two outer planets are rare, so do take advantage of them.  See the Best Dates calendar for some very auspicious dates for love and money.

OK, let's take a deeper dive into the energies of November:

November 1- 9:  Meditate, Work on Your Art, and Be Mindful of Overspending

Neptune is in Pisces again, for the last time in our lifetime!  We have just a handful of opportunities left to connect with the Divine on a very deep level, when the Moon moves into Pisces and makes a conjunction with Neptune.  This month, it's November 2. Don't miss! Meditate.  Journal.  Work with your crystals. Book a Tarot reading!!! 

If you're a big spender, leave your wallet at home on November 2.  Venus and Jupiter reinforce each other's generous streak, so it can be too easy to overspend. 

And, if financial prosperity is on your mind these days,  mark the upcoming Full Moon in Taurus on your calendar.  It's one of the best days of the year to ask the Universe that any blocks to abundance are lifted from you.  It's on November 5 at 5:19 a.m. PST.

And, I hate to break it to you, but Mercury enters its Storm on November 4, getting ready to turn retrograde on November 9. Communication mishaps, issues with your electronic devices or data, and travel arrangements could start getting more problematic as the week goes on...

Review the fine print if you need to sign a contract, give yourself plenty of time to get to important appointments, and...drumroll....get exited about the Grand Trine in Water, active November 15-17! The Sun in Scorpio harmonizes with Saturn in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer.

A Grand Trine involving the Sun helps with many things, such as love, finances, career, and plain good luck overall.

But, be aware that the Moon is Balsamic as of November 16, 10:47 p.m. PST.  It's not conducive to new starts, so if you want to go on that first date, hurry and book it for Nov. 15-16.

Balsamic Moon or not, this auspicious Grand Trine is awesome for those metaphysically inclined.  Charge a citrine for luck and visualize yourself flowing effortlessly with a big huge wave of luck and opportunities.

November 17-23: New Moon in Scorpio, Mercury in the Spotlight

This week, retrograde Mercury revisits some of the planetary alignments it made in October.  If you need to revisit a contract, follow up on a presentation, re-write a proposal, or do some major and productive editing, this is your week!

But, it's the Cazimi Moon in Scorpio, on November 19 at 10:47 p.m. PST, that steals the show.  A Cazimi Moon is super powerful. If you have anything important to start, and it's a part of a larger project that started before November 4 (before Mercury went into its Storm), 30 minutes before or after this New Moon makes for a very auspicious time.  

And as usual, set your intentions!  For the manifestor, this New Moon is THE day of the year to connect with your superpower (we all have at least one!), to invite more passion into your life, and to ask for transformational change if you feel stuck.  

It's also a great New Moon to ask for increased resolve and determination to accomplish something.

And that “something” can include getting rid of unhelpful habits (good-bye, smoking!), debt, or deep-seated emotions such as guilt, resentment, envy and jealousy. And so it’s a very powerful New Moon, but also very healing.

November 24-30:  Great Week for Love in Romance;  Mercury Turns Direct

First of all, if you're thinking of reaching out to your ex, take advantage of Mercury Rx making a conjunction with Venus on November 24.  It's so much easier to revisit part issues with tact and grace when this energy is active.

And! Another Grand Trine is picking steam in the skies! Venus in Scorpio trines Saturn, Jupiter and Neptune this week.  If you're hitched, this is your week for an ultra-romantic date. Gaze into each other's eyes and reminisce about the days when you first got together, and what brought you together in the first place.

If you're looking for love, this is still a good week, but remember that Mercury turns direct on Nov. 29.  Misunderstandings are possible. 

If you're planning a proposal, save it for Nov. 30-Dec. 2, when Venus still makes some very lovely aspects (she trines Neptune and sextiles Pluto).

A great day for self-care and some time at the spa, but if you're a big spender, sit this one out.  Major buyer remorse can follow this energy.  Just saying...

⚠️ Nov. 5-15:  Mercury is changing direction

Mercury goes retrograde on November 9.  In practice, a lot of Mercury Rx-related mishaps happen within 5 days it changes direction, and the rest of the retrograde period is not as bad.

Mercury is repositioning, getting ready to turn direct on November 29.
